Dear Global Academy Family,
Greetings to all!
I hope you all are fine and wish for your wellbeing. Some of you might have heard about me from our senior teachers regarding how good I was academically. Our principal and senior teachers might have told something much more than I really was in those times, may be out of their love or just to motivate you, but I will be honest here.
Please read carefully, these are my experiences that I have gathered over my time at Global Academy and pursuing my further studies until my graduation and still during my ongoing professional career as a Civil Engineer.
Allow me to share a slice of my journey with you.
Let’s start with discipline. It’s not just about waking up early; it’s about managing our time wisely. Time management is like a secret sauce to a happy and successful life. It’s about organizing our thoughts and actions every day.
And you know what? I’m still learning how to manage my time better. It’s not a single jump, it’s a continuous journey which takes time, effort and consistency.
Here are some practical things we all can do:
a. Embrace sports weekly – whether it’s Cricket, Football, or Running – to keep your muscles toned and bones resilient.
b. If you’re a teenager, lend a hand in the kitchen. The skill of cooking will prove invaluable during your independent stay in higher studies and your career.
c. Avoid rote learning. Instead, focus on understanding subjects deeply, for knowledge is far more valuable than mere memorization.
d. Nurture your creativity and interests. Whether it’s reading newspapers, creating art, exploring new gadgets, or playing games, consistency is the key to letting your creativity flourish.
e. Build confidence and leadership skills. My personal journey began with poor speaking skills in the 6th standard. Being called to speak in front of the morning assembly was a daunting experience, but it planted the seed of confidence.
Overcoming this fear, I, along with friends, initiated the ‘MITE GROUP. With the unwavering support of our principal, teachers, and Sir Aashish Ojha, we organized diverse programs, from drama competitions to impromptu speech contests. Those Friday activities we organized were truly one of their kind 12 years ago. Their encouragement helped us develop public speaking skills, leadership qualities, and event organizational expertise. I have a special wish to see a new generation of students revive the ‘MITE GROUP’ If any of you are interested in bringing back this vibrant tradition, my friends and I are more than eager to provide our support in any way we can. It’s a fantastic opportunity to create memorable experiences and showcase your talents. Let’s work together to keep the spirit alive!
And yeah, some more to share with you. We won district-level spelling contests, quiz contests, and impromptu speech contests, as well as interschool cricket and football games, teaching us valuable lessons. And yeah remember this too. In the pursuit of our goals, we faced losses in many games and competitions. It’s essential to understand that victory is not guaranteed every time. Failures are not setbacks but opportunities to learn invaluable lessons. As the saying goes, ‘Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.’
So, I encourage you to engage in extracurricular activities in addition to managing your time for studies.
Just like every flower has a sweet fragrance, you all have unique talents of your own, so I’m eager to listen to your stories.
I look forward to the day we can meet again, visit our beloved school, reconnect with teachers, listen to your experiences, and share more of mine. Until then, take care and Good Bye!!!
Warm Regards,
GAJENDRA RAJ JOSHI
